Farida and Mahmoud's Class Series




	February class series in Cairo with Farida and Mahmoud!
		Over 5 days, in 22-26 Feb 2009 we tried something new - a series of small, personalised group classes at Mahmoud's Downtown studio in Cairo - the nostalgic home of the Reda toupe's choreographies and ideas for 50 years. Joined by 8 dancers from around the world, the classes offered a chance to learn in an intimate environment where each dancer could ask questions and be monitored as she trained. I taught core dance technique (anatomical, emotional, aesthetic and cultural), and Mahmoud followed by teaching Egyptian combinations, rhythms and Reda choreographies. There was time to chat and look at videos of the Reda dances - plus hear our personal stories. Here is what the participants thought about the small classes:

	My next Cairo class series will be held April for five days 8,9,10,11,12 - 2009 in Zamalek. I will be teaching 6 people only. Mahmoud has a very busy month in Japan and Spain, but will be available for two classes.
